Method is used to test efficacy of chemicals used as wood preservatives against specified test fungi. Standardized wood blocks, both weathered and unweathered, are treated (pressure impregnation) with a range of concentrations of the test chemical and incubated with the decay fungi for 90 days. Weight loss of the test block is used to assess the efficacy of the chemical preservative.
