Results and discussion

Water solubility
Key result
Water solubility:
ca. 27.5 mg/L
Temp.:
30 °C
pH:
>= 6.25 - <= 6.75
Remarks on result:
other: at a loading rate of 100 mg/L. solubility increases with loading rate
Details on results:
further assays at higher loading rates showed a sub-proportional increase in water solubility at 30°C, pH ranging 6.02-6.31:
241 mg/L at 984 mg/L loading rate
1.6 g/L at 10 g/L loading rate
3.9 g/L at 98 g/L loading rate

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test item is a reaction mass with four constituents. Each one has a different solubility and due to the complex interaction of the constituents, the determination of a single value for the water solubility of this test item is not feasible. Indeed, the solubility of the test item depends on the water/test item ratios and only quasi-saturated solutions can be prepared. An estimation of the water solubility was determined from the concentrations measured from samples with various nominal concentrations. The water solubility for the test item is approximately 27.5 mg/L based on a nominal 100 mg/L mixture.
