Conclusions:
The water solubility of ytterbium(III) oxide determined according to the "flask method" was 269 µg/L at pH 8 and 20°C. Expressed as dissolved Yb concentration this is a water solubility of 236 µg Yb/L.

Description of key information

The water solubility of the test substance was determined according to OECD guideline 105 and the EC A.6 method (flask method) in a GLP study (Petrovic, 2014; Klimisch 1) and was found to be 236 µg/L at pH 8 and 20°C, when expressed as ytterbium content in water, and 269 µg/L, when recalculated to ytterbium oxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
269 µg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C
