Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the substance was tested according to the EU Method C.4-A (Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) Die-Away Test), with several modification from the guideline.

The tested substance was found to be not readily biodegradable under the conditions of this test; the biodegradation corrected by the blank control and measured as DOC (mg/L) was 0 % (28th day).

Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) are the most commonly used parameters for the characterization of the biodegradability capacity.

COD results are typically higher than BOD5 values, and the ratio between vary depending on the characteristics of the substrate. This ratio has been commonly used as an indicator for biodegradation capacity, the "Biodegradability index" (B.I.).

As indicated in ECHA Guidance requirement R.7B, the BOD5 test is a traditional biodegradation test that is now replaced by the ready biodegradability tests. Therefore, this test should not be performed today for assessment of the ready biodegradability of substances.

Older test data may, however, be used when no other degradability data are available.

Studies on BOD5 and COD are available for this substance, therefore they have been used together with the DOC (Dissolved Organic Carbon) performed according to OECD Guideline 301A, in the weight of evidence approach for this substance.

The value of the analytical determination of COD of is 1109 mg/g O2. The value of the measured BOD5, corrected with the blank control is 0 mg/g O2.

The ratio BOD5/COD is 0 ( if => 0.5, the substance is regarded as being readily biodegradable).
