First-aid measures

General information : Get medical aid.
First aid measures :
- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
- Skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min. Occasionally lift up the upper and lower eyelids.
- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).

Fire-fighting measures

Specific hazard : High temperature may liberate toxic gases.
Protection against fire : Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (or quivalent) and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section Exposure controls and personal precaution.
Environmental precautions : Do not let the chemical enter the environment.
Clean up methods : Avoid generating dusty conditions. Vacuum or sweep up the material and place into a suitable disposal container.

Handling and storage

Storage : Store in tightly closed, properly ventilated containers. Store in dry, cool area.
Handling : Avoid generating dusty conditions. Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Do not breathe gas, fumes, vapour or spray. Use only in well ventilated areas.

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial hygiene : Use adequate ventilation to keep airbone conentrations low . Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Personal protection :
- Respiratory protection : Wear a mask for dusty type N95(US) or type P1(EN143). USe approved material for standards such as NIOSH(US) or CEN(EU).
- Hand protection : Wear suitable gloves resistant to chemical penetration.
- Skin protection : Wear suitable protective clothing.
- Eye protection : Chemical goggles or safety glasses.

Disposal considerations

General : Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local / national regulations.
Disposal method : Can be burnt in a chemical incinerator equipped with a postcombustion and purification system. Dissolve or mix with a combustible solvent.
