Additional information

Y-15099 (CAS 220727-26-4) is not considered to be readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria in one confirmatory GLP Guideline study (Grützner, 2001). This result mainly reflects the biodegradation of the hydrolysis products for which in detail the Silanetriol, (3-mercaptopropyl)- is expected to be not readily biodegradable. In accordance with column 2 of Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, simulation tests in water, sediment and soil do not need to be conducted as the chemical safety assessment does not indicate a need for further investigations. The environmental exposure assessment for Y-15099 indicates no risk for the aquatic compartment (all Risk Characterisation Ratios (RCR) < 1). Thus, further simulation tests are not necessary according to Section 3.1, Annex XI of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006.
