Description of key information

A study was performed to measure the abiotic degradation of the test article according to OECD guideline 111 at 50 °C ± 0.1 °C at each of pH 4.0, pH 7.0, and pH 9.0. The results of pH 7.0 and pH 9.0 showed no significant degradation of FAT 41001/H. In conclusion, FAT 41001/H was considered to be hydrolytically stable at pH 7.0 and pH 9.0. Hydrolysis reaction of FAT 41001/H at pH 4.0 and 25 °C was estimated to be relative slow (t1/2 (25 °C) = about 110 days). In the light of percentage degradation observed in water in screening tests the test item FAT 41001 is considered not to be readily biodegradable. FAT 41001 has a low octanol water partition coefficient, therefore no adsorption/desorption study was conducted. For risk assessment purposes, the log Koc value was estimated from the log Kow value using KOCWIN v2.00. Log Koc vlaue was estimated to be 0.2. This value indicates a mobile character of the test substance.
