First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: No specific treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: In case of fire, the usual extinguishers are recommended

e.g: water, CO2, foam, dry powder). The substance itself is

not flammable. Nevertheless, in case of fire, nitrogen

oxides and sulphur dioxide (and chromium oxide smoke ?) may

be produced; it is therefore recommended that a respirator

be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect the product while keeping it dry and take it to a

controlled disposal area or incinerate it in a suitable

installation. Absorb spilled solutions with a suitable

product (e.g. sawdust) and incinerate  in a suitable

installation.

Handling and storage

Handling: The usual precautions for handling chemicals should be

observed. Wear protective clothing and respirators in case

of inadequate ventilation.

the aluminium. Unused material can be removed from the

treatment bath by either precipitation with trivalent iron

or aluminium salts or absorption on activated charcoal.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: at a licensed waste disposal site (but see Declaration for

necessary precautions)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: in an appropriate incinerator (for precautions, see item

2.3.4) Water purification systems: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
