Description of key information

Recent guideline studies are available on skin and eye irritation. According to the study results, gallium arsenide is not irritating to the skin or to eyes. 
NTP studies (NTP, 2000) with rats and mice revealed that after repeated inhalation exposure to a fine dust of GaAs a pulmonary alveolar proteinosis occurs leading to a pulmonary chronic inflammation .

Recent guideline studies are available on skin and eye irritation. According to the study results, gallium arsenide is not irritating to the skin or to eyes and is thus not classified as irritant according to the criteria of the CLP-regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
