Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7200 (Melting Point / Melting Range)

Key result
Remarks on result:
other: The test substance solidified on cooling but there was no distinct freezing point above -70 ºC

When cooled between 30 and -70 ºC, the test material exhibited a steady decrease in temperature with no leveling of the temperature for a period of time indicating a distinct freezing point. At 20 ºC the test material became too viscous to stir and at -70 ºC was completely solid.

Conclusions:
Under the conditions of the test, the test material solidified on cooling but exhibited no distinct freezing point above -70 ºC.
Executive summary:

In a GLP compliant melting/freezing point study conducted in accordance with standardised guidelines EU Method A.1 and EPA OPPTS 830.7200, the freezing point of the test material was determined. Under the conditions of the test, the substance solidified on cooling but exhibited no distinct freezing point above -70 ºC.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a GLP compliant melting/freezing point study conducted in accordance with standardised guidelines, the freezing point of the test material was determined. Under the conditions of the test, the substance solidified on cooling but exhibited no distinct freezing point above -70 ºC.
