Description of key information

No effects were seen at the highest concentration tested, 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Reliable studies are available for two members of this category, Rosin, fumarated, reaction products with formaldehyde and Fatty acids, tall oil, oligomeric reaction products (Harlan 2010, Harlan 2010). Both studies were GLP-compliant and folowed standard guidelines. Both used WAFs and conducted analytical verification of the test concentrations. However, given that toxicity cannot be attributed to a single component or a mixture of components but to the test item as a whole the results were based on nominal loading rates only. Neither study observed any effects at the highest concentration tested, 100 g/L.
