First-aid measures

In case of inhalation:

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him immobile. Seek medical treatment immediately. In case of respiratory standstill give artifical respiration by respirator and send for a doctor.

In case of skin contact:

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing immediately, even underwear and shoes. If skin irritation occurs, get medical advice/attention.

In case of eye contact:

In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice/attention.

In case of ingestion:

Induce the patient to vomit by himself only if fully conscious. If swallowed seek medical advice immediately and show the doctor packing or label. Rinse mouth.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Foam, Dry fire-extinguishing substance, Carbon dioxide, Water spray jet.

Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases:

Pyrolysis products of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.

In the event of fire the following can be released:

Nitrogen oxides, Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Acryl acid.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:

Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply. Wear full protective clothing. Do not inhale explosion and/or conbustion gases.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective clothing. Keep away sources of ignition. Use breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dust/aerosol.

Environmental precautions:

Collect contaminated water/firefighting water separately.

Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning up:

Send in suitable containers for recovery or disposal.

Take up with absorbent material (eg, sand, sawdust, general-purpose binder, kieselguhr).

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Care for suitable extraction/ventilation at processing machines. Use antistatic tools. Open and handle container with care. Open container only under local exhaust ventilation.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Keep away from sources of ignition-No smoking. Vapours can form an explosive mixture with air. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Pay attention to general rules of internal fire prevention.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels:

Ventilate store-rooms thoroughly. Keep only in original container.

Advice on storage compatibility:

Do not store with acids, alkalies or combustible materials. Do not store with oxidizing agents.

Further information on storage conditions:

Keep container tightly closed, store at cool and aired place, open and handle carefully. Protect from light. Protect from heat/overheating.

Additional transport information

Additional information
Special provisions / remarks / other:
No hazardous material as defined by the prescriptions including IATA regulation.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:

If ventilation insufficient, wear respiratory protection.

Short term: filter apparatus, filter A

Hand protection:

Gloves made of butyl rubber.

Glove material specification:

The personal protection must be chosen workplace-specific due to the dependance on concentration and amount of hazardous substances.

The chemical resistance of the personal protection gloves for this special application should be clarified and confirmed by the supplier.

Eye protection:

Safety goggles with side protection.

Skin protection:

Liquid-proof protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid:

Reactions with light. Risk of polymerisation.

Materials to avoid:

Reactions with catalysts, oxidising agents and strong alkalies.

Hazardous decomposition products:

Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Nitrous oxides.

Pyrolysis products, aromatic and aliphatic.

Acrylamide.

Disposal considerations

In accordance with regulations for special waste, must be taken, after pretreatment, to an authorised special waste incineration plant.

Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of like the product.
