Administrative data

First-aid measures

- Eye contact: Flush with copious quantities of water or saline, including under eyelids for at least 15 minutes.
- Skin contact: Wash affected area with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if reaction occurs/persists. Wear safety gloves as first aider.
- Inhalation: Remove promptly to fresh air. If not breathing, administer artificial respiration. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice if adverse reaction occurs and persists.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents: Carbon dioxide, dry powder, water or foam extinguisher.
- Known hazards arising from combustion: None known but likely to emit harmful oxides of carbon and nitrogen.
- Protective equipment needed by firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, suitable protective clothing and chemical resistant gloves.

Accidental release measures

- Personal protection in case of large spill: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product. Suitable protective clothing and chemical resistant gloves are required.
- Environmental precautions during spill recovery and clean-up: Avoid contamination of surface waters. Vacuum or sweep up material and place into suitable disposal container.

Handling and storage

Material should be stored in well ventilated areas at about 25 degrees C in tightly closed containers. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhaling dust. Ensure emergency eyewash equipment is close by.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Internal occupational exposure limit set at 0.01 mg/cu.m
- Engineering control measures: Dusts of this product should not be breathed in. Engineering methods to prevent or control exposure below the permissible exposure limits should be used. Use process enclosure (e.g. glove-box units), local exhaust ventilation or other suitable engineering controls to control airborne levels.

- Personal protective equipment:
> Respiratory protection: wear a suitable respirator designed for achieving a high level of filtration to dust such as powered respirators or full face masks with a P3 filter (EN12941, EN12942 and EN166 / EN141, EN143 and EN166).
> Hand protection: Impermeable gloves (e.g. nitrile gloves to EN374-2).
> Eye protection: If respirator does not already provide eye protection, wear goggles conforming to EN-166.
> Body protection: Wear Tyvek or similar overalls (e.g. to PREN13982-1-2, PREN13034). If contaminated, must be removed whilst wearing a respirator and disposed of in an appropriate manner.

- Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep away from food and drink. Wash hands (and face where exposed to product) before breaks and immediately if exposure occurs anywhere else on the body.

Stability and reactivity

- Stable under normal temperature and pressure.
- Conditions to avoid: none known
- Hazardous decomposition products: non known but possibly harmful fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides.

Disposal considerations

- National , local and EU regulations concerning waste disposal must be respected.
- Chemical neutralisation method: none known
- Methods for recovery/recycling: none known
- Dispoal by incineration: recommended
- Other recommended disposal methods: not recommended
