Description of key information

Supporting evidence is available for the boundary substance pMDI, confirming no toxic effects of pMDI exposure to soil macro-organisms. A 14d-EC50 of >1000 mg/kg soil (d.w.) was obtained for the earthworm Eisenia fetida according to OECD 207.

No long-term terrestrial tests have been performed due to the hydrolytic instability of the MDI substances. However the Registrant has included testing proposals for an OECD 222 study with the boundary substances 4,4-MDI/DPG/HMWP, pMDI and 4,4'-MDI.
