Description of key information

Two studies on acute toxicity to fish are available, one for zebra fish and one for carp, both being reliable. For hazard and risk assessment the LC50 value determined with zebra fish, being 75.5 mg/l (48 h) is taken forward as a worst case approach.

Additional information

Acute aquatic toxicity towards fish was tested with zebra fish in a GLP study performed in 1990 (IBR) and was found being harmful to fish showing an LC50 value of 75.5 mg/l (48 h). In another study performed 2002 by Wang et al. with carps a LC50 value (48 h) of 316.22 mg/l was determined, indicating that carps obviously are less sensitive to 2 -Chlorobutane. Consequently, for hazard and risk assessment the value for zebra fish is taken forward.
