- Justification:
All components of Propanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-, C12-16-alkyl esters are readily biodegradable. As the alkyl lactates and alcohols are readily metabolized, there is no risk of bioconcentration in animal or human tissue. EC10 or NOEC for aquatic organisms is > 0.01 mg/L. There is no evidence for carinogenicity or adverse effects on reproductive in rats exposed to the test product. There is no evidence for chronic toxicity or any sgnificant systemic effects.

Main route of possible exposure is through skin contact and limited exposure can be expected by the oral route (hand-to-mouth contact).
