Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: No data available
Conclusions:
The test material 1,2-Dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (CAS no: 99-54-7) was considered to be not sensitizing to the skin of guinea pigs in guinea pig maximization test.
Executive summary:

Guinea pig maximization test of chemical 1,2-Dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (CAS no: 99-54-7) was carried out to determine its skin sensitization potential in accordance with OECD Test Guideline 406.

The induction was carried out intracutaneously with 5 % 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene solution and topically with an occlusive 48-hour application of a 50 % 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene solution. To provoke the animals, a 50 % solution was applied occlusively to the skin for 24 hours. A second provocation reaction took place seven days later with 25- and 12% 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene.

None of the animals showed a sensitization reaction.

Hence the chemical1,2-Dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (CAS no: 99-54-7) was considered to be not sensitizing to the skin of guinea pigs
