Details on results:
Additional information of the measured concentrations of column 1:
Fraction 15 = 4.10 μg/l Macrolex Rot 5B
The measured values of fraction 1 – 14 and of fraction 16 – 21 vary from 0.4 μg/l to 2.7 μg/l Macrolex Rot 5B.
Mean value = 1.0 μg/l Macrolex Rot 5B of column 1
Additional information of the measured concentrations of column 2:
The measured values of fraction 1 – 13 vary from 0.3 μg/l to 1.1 μg/l Macrolex Rot 5B. Mean value = 0.5 μg/l Macrolex Rot 5B of column 2.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of Macrolex Rot 5B determined by OECD 105 (column elution method) at 20 °C was < 3 μg/l.
Executive summary:

A study performed according to OECD 105 (column elution method) yielded a water solubility for Macrolex Rot 5B of <3 µg/L. However the method based on LC/MS detection was more sensitive. Individual results of fractions were in the range of 0.3 to 4.1 µg/L. Deviation of column 1 to column 2 was higher than foreseen by the guideline. Nevertheless the mean value of all fractions where Macrolex Rot B could be detected was calculated finally giving a water solubility of 0.75 µg/L.

Description of key information

The water solubility of Solvent Red 52 determined by the column elution method at 20 °C was 0.75 μg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.75 µg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A study performed according to OECD 105 (column elution method) yielded a water solubility for Macrolex Rot 5B of <3 µg/L. However the method based on LC/MS detection was more sensitive down to about 0.2 µg/L.
