Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance has a log Pow of 1.9 at 25 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
1.9
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The available data were evaluated in a weight of evidence approach. In a BASF study (1988) a log Pow of 1.9 at 25 °C was determined. Furthermore, the GESTIS database states a log Pow of 1.09. In addition, the log Pow was calculated using EPISuite v.4.11 KOWWIN. The log Pow was calculated to be 1.87 at 25 °C. All values were in the same range. The BASF study was regarded as the most reliable source. Thus, the log Pow of 1.9 was chosen as key value.

QSAR-disclaimer
In Article 13 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, it is laid down that information on intrinsic properties of substances may be generated by means other than tests, provided that the conditions set out in Annex XI (of the same Regulation) are met. Furthermore according to Article 25 of the same Regulation testing on vertebrate animals shall be undertaken only as a last resort.
According to Annex XI of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (Q)SAR results can be used if (1) the scientific validity of the (Q)SAR model has been established, (2) the substance falls within the applicability domain of the (Q)SAR model, (3) the results are adequate for the purpose of classification and labeling and/or risk assessment and (4) adequate and reliable documentation of the applied method is provided.
For the assessment of N,N-diisobutylformamide (Q)SAR results were used for partition coefficient. The criteria listed in Annex XI of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 are considered to be adequately fulfilled and therefore the endpoint(s) sufficiently covered and suitable for risk assessment.
Therefore, further experimental studies on partition coefficient are not provided.
