Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance belongs to the category "Hydrocarbons, C9 -C14, aliphatics, <=2% aromatics. Its ecotoxicological properties have been investigated using experimental data for the substance itself supported by data for other substances in the category (see the read-across justification document attached to IUCLID section 13 for category definition and member list).

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for all trophic levels (fish, invertebrates, algae). Based on the experimental data, Hydrocarbons, C11-C13 (odd numbered), n-alkanes, <2% aromatics has low toxicity to aquatic organisms. No effects occurred up to the water solubility limit. Experimental data indicate no inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge when introduced to a biological treatment system. In addition, long-term toxicity data are available for aquatic invertebrates and algae. No significant effects occurred on reproduction and growth rate up to the water solubility limit. Thus, Hydrocarbons, C11-C13 (odd numbered), n-alkanes, <2% aromatics is not considered to be harmful to aquatic organisms at acute and long-term (chronic) exposure.
