Description of key information

The 17-h EC10 for Pseudomonas putida of 177 mg/L will be used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
177 mg/L

Additional information

In a static freshwater micro-organism toxicity study with Pseudomonas putida (BASF Ecotoxicology Laboratory, 1988), performed according to BASF protocols, the 17-h EC10 is 177 mg/L and the 17-h EC50 is 281 mg/L, based on growth inhibition. No data are available on the GLP status and analytical monitoring. In another freshwater study with Pseudomonas sp., for which only information from secondary sources is available (Meinck et al., 1968) a LOEC of = 630 mg/L is reported. The value from the study by BASF Ecotoxicology Laboratory (1988) will be used in the assessment as the results are more critical and results from secondary sources cannot be used.
