Description of key information

The water solubility of triethyl citrate was determined in a non-GLP study (2011) according to EPA OPPTS 830.7840 (1996), OECD-Guideline No. 105 and Method A.6 (EC 440/2008). Using the flask method at 20 +/- 0.5°C/min and pre-incubation at 30 °C (all relevant validity criteria were fulfilled), the water solubility was determined to be 58.1 g/L (20°C) at pH 3.4, so the substance is very soluble.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
58.1 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C
