Salicylic acid ranged from "not detected" to 19 µg/L among the 19 samples.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Salicylic acid, which is described as a food preservative, has been detected at low but significant levels
in the waste water of this sewage treatment plant which collects the domestic wastes of about 640 000 people, plus industrial effluents
(kraft pulp mills, sawmilling, log booming, transportation and livestock ranching).
