Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on calculated data, diisobutyl phthalate is not expected to be acutely toxic to soil macroorganisms.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the absence of measured data for Diisobutyl phthalate for this endpoint, a QSAR (ECOSAR) has been used. ECOSAR has been used in previous regulatory assessment and is considered suitable for use as a key study for this endpoint. ECOSAR can predict LC50 for earthworms up to a log Kow of 6. The log Kow of the substance is 4.11 so the model's results can be considered adequate.

The estimated 14 day LC50 is 583.072 mg/kg, however, the model notes that this is above the water solubility of the test substance.
