Description of key information

If released to water, 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde is poorly biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Biodegradation of 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde was determined according to OECD Guideline 301 F using municipal activated sludge from laboratory wastewater treatment plants (fed with municipal and synthetic sewage) as inoculum. The result showed a degradation rate of 0 – 10% after 28 days of exposure. Therefore, the test substance is poorly biodegradable.
