Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria but may be well eliminated from wastewater

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Ready biodegradability was investigated in a non-GLP test according to OECD guideline 301E (BASF 1991). After 37 days of exposure no biotic elimination was observed but only 33% of abiotic elimination. This result is supported by the results of a non-GLP Zahn-Wellens-Test according to OECD guideline 302B also using domestic activated sludge as inoculum (BASF 1991). After 27 days 100% of the test substance was eliminated whereof 65% were eliminated abiotically. As abiotic elimination was not due to adsorption volatilization has to be regarded as a major elimination path in STPs.
