Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The measured Henry’s Law Constant, 2.82 x 10e-3 atm-m3/mol at 25 C, was taken as representative for 1,2-dichloropropane. A value of 2.07 x 10e-3 atm-m3/mol was reported at 20 C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0.002
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Henry’s Law constants for 1,2-dichloropropane have been measured experimentally at different temperatures by several investigators. The experimentally measured values were generally consistent, and in excellent agreement with calculated values. The measured Henry’s Law Constant, 2.82 x 10e-3 atm-m3/mol at 25 C (2.07 x 10e-3 atm-m3/mol at 20 C), was taken as representative for 1,2-dichloropropane. The magnitude of the Henry’s Law constant indicates that 1,2-dichloropropane is expected to volatilize from soil and water.
