Description of key information

The main constituents of 2-propanol and 2-butanol production, distn. residues (ethers, alcohols, alkanes and alkenes) do not contain functional groups that are easily hydrolysed. Consequently, they are considered being resistant to hydrolysis and abiotic mechanisms will not contribute significantly to the degradation of the test item in the environment.

The main constituents of 2-propanol and 2-butanol production, distn. residues (ethers, alcohols, alkanes and alkenes) do not contain functional groups that are easily hydrolysed. Consequently, they are considered being resistant to hydrolysis (1, 2) and abiotic mechanisms will not contribute significantly to the degradation of the test item in the environment.

Further testing is not required in accordance with Annex XI of REACH, section 1.2 and 2.
