Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from source of exposure. If signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary. Emergency measure - Eyes: Remove from source of exposure. Flush with copious amounts of water. Seek immediate medical attention. Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary. Emergency measure - Skin: Remove from source of exposure. Flush with copious amounts of water. If irritation persists or of toxicity occur, seek medical attention. Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary. Emergency measure - Ingestion: Remove from source of exposure. If signs or of toxicity occur, seek medical attention. Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from source of exposure. If signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.
Provide symptomatic/supportive care as necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: As appropriate for underlying cause of fire (e.g. water,
foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide).

Product arising from burning: Not determined.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing including self-contained
breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Recover product and place in an appropriate container for
disposal. Ventilate and wash the spill area.

Handling and storage

Handling: Local exhaust ventilation should be in place to controle
dust at source. Handlers should wear impervious gloves.
Handlers should wear a full face, air purifying respirator
with high efficiency particulate filter (P 100). During
operations which may generate dust, a tyvek body suit with
hood and overshoes should be worn. Hands and face should be
washed thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Store in a double, polythene lined bag, inside an air tight
UN approved fibre drum.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Store in plastic bag(s) in side a sealed drum.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Controls: Local exhaust ventilation as necessary to maintain exposures to within applicable
limits.
Respiratory Protection: An approved respirator (i.e. NIOSH, EN, etc.) should be worn when exposures are
expected to exceed the applicable limits.
Eyes: Wear eye protection appropriate to handling activities.
Gloves: Impervious gloves.
Other PPE Data: Wear appropriate body coverings if contact may occur.

In case of high concentration of toxic substances in air: SCUBA system; neoprene gloves EN374; Coverall type 5 and 6 UNI EN ISO 13982- EN13043; safety boot EN 345-2

In all the other case PPE neoprene gloves EN374; full face respirator EN136 (OPERATING PROTECTIVE FACTOR = 400 OEL) with filter A2B2E2K2P3; Coverall type 5 and 6 UNI EN ISO 13982- EN13043 for dust and coverall type 4 EN 14605 for hazardous liquid

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: Not determined

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a asuitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur should be
fitted (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance is not intended for public
use.
