Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Symptomatic
treatment.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur together with hydrogen chloride gas.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Avoid dust formation. Sweep up spill, for solutions absorb
with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil) before
collecting, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.
Transfer spilt material to labelled waste containers for
disposal at a suitable landfill site or by incineration in
accordance with local regulations. Wash spill site with
water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic chemicals
in order to minimise any exposure. Ensure adequate
ventilation, use engineering controls where possible. Wear
protective clothing, safety goggles, impervious gloves. If
respiratory protection is required a dust mask conforming to
EN 149 FFP1 should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers.

A suitable container is a carton containing 20 kg.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Cases of respiratory sensitisation have been reported for
reactive dyes. If sensitisation is observed, the person must
be removed from contact with the substance and medical
advice sought.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages is not economically or
technically feasible.

Recovery for recycling from larger spillages is feasible
(A612).

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a
suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of
nitrogen and sulfur and hydrogen chloride gas should be
fitted (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance will not normally be discharged to the sewage
system or aqueous environment. If accidental discharge
should occur no adverse effects are expected as the
substance has been shown not to be unduly toxic to sewage
micro-organisms.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form
of articles which can be disposed of as normal domestic
waste.
