Registrants using a category approach can now also check what will be published on ECHA's website from their dossiers
Helsinki, 02 February 2011 - ECHA has released today an update of the IT tool that enables companies to check which information from their registration dossiers will be made public on ECHA's website. No changes have been introduced to the current way of filtering single-substance registration dossiers, but the tool can now also filter registration dossiers based on a category approach.
The purpose of the tool is to help registrants to see which parts of their IUCLID dossier will be made publicly available. Companies can then make sure that confidential business information will not be released. The tool simulates the automated filtering done by ECHA before dossiers are published on the internet. It shows which parts ECHA will publish according to Article 119 of REACH.
The tool is a IUCLID dissemination plug-in which works with IUCLID version 5.2, and is available, free of charge on the IUCLID 5 website.
ECHA would like to remind companies that information from registration dossiers submitted before 1 December 2010 will be disseminated as of 1 March 2011. Companies have time to correct mistakes uncovered by using the dissemination plug-in and update their dossier before this date.
A chemical category is a group of substances whose physicochemical and human health and/or ecotoxicological properties and/or environmental fate properties are likely to be similar or follow a regular pattern, usually as a result of structural similarity.
