Biocides

What biocidal substances can be used to treat products?

Do you market treated articles? For example paints that contain an in-can preservative or sofas where the fabric has been treated with a preservative? We have published a list of those biocides (active substances in different product-types) that can continue to be used to treat articles. According to the Biocidal Products Regulation, you can only market articles that are treated with active substances which are either of low risk, have been approved, or were included in the EU approval process by the deadline of September 2016 and are waiting to be approved for your product-type. If your article is treated with a substance that is not approved, it should be removed from the market.
