ECHA Helpdesk

Who we are

The ECHA Helpdesk provides administrative advice to those who have obligations under the REACH and CLP Regulations. This service also includes support to users of ECHA's IT tools (such as IUCLID, Chesar and REACH-IT), and assistance related to the processing of individual submissions.

The advice offered by the Agency through the ECHA Helpdesk is free of charge. As a service, it can provide information on the obligations of registrants under REACH and CLP, but it will not solve business-specific problems. It will therefore not make recommendations on how a particular company should go about fulfilling their obligations. For sector specific questions, companies should consider contacting their industry associations, and for questions related to substances, often their suppliers are the best source of information.

The Helpdesk Unit provides also the Secretariat of the REACH and CLP helpdesk network (HelpNet). HelpNet supports national REACH and CLP helpdesks to arrive at a common understanding of REACH and CLP implementation, and to familiarise themselves with ECHA's IT tools for industry users. The HelpNet aims at harmonising replies to companies by providing up-to-date information on REACH and CLP implementation, discussing difficult questions in the HelpNet Exchange platform, which is a tool that allows HelpNet members to discuss difficult questions, to cooperate and to support one another on a daily basis to reach agreement on REACH and CLP FAQs to be published on ECHA's website.

How we work

The ECHA Helpdesk processes questions which have been submitted by the public through the dedicated ECHA Helpdesk contact form on the ECHA website.

If a question on REACH and CLP provisions originates from the EU/EEA, the respective national REACH and CLP helpdesk is called to participate in its resolution.

How to contact us

To submit an enquiry to the ECHA Helpdesk, please complete the ECHA Helpdesk contact form.

The ECHA Helpdesk guarantees service in English. It also supports requests in other languages; the reply to an enquiry may then however take a bit longer.
