Chesar support temporarily suspended until new version is released

The ECHA Helpdesk will temporarily suspend Chesar support from the day of the "Live demonstration of Chesar 2.0" webinar on 21 May 2012 until the release of Chesar 2.0 scheduled for the end of June 2012.

03 May 2012 ECHA accepts group notification to the Classification and Labelling Inventory for companies who are not themselves manufacturers or importers

The European Commission has clarified that ECHA may allow third parties, such as Only Representatives (ORs) appointed under the REACH Regulation, to submit C&L notifications under Article 40 of the CLP Regulation. This is possible, provided that the importers remain responsible for the notification and the system is enforceable.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published an updated version of the Guidance on registration following the conclusion of the consultation process. The Guidance is now available in the 'Guidance on REACH' section of the ECHA website.
30 April 2012 Updated Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment for nanomaterials

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published three new appendices, updating Chapters R.7a, R.7b and R.7c of the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment (IR & CSA). These three new appendices are recommendations for registering nanomaterials.

14 May 2012ECHA launches a new public consultation on proposals for harmonised classification and labelling for four pesticides and a fire-preventing agent

ECHA invites the parties concerned to comment on five new proposals for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH): Isoxaflutole, Tembotrione, Metosulam, Potassium sorbate and Tetrakis(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-m-phenylene biphosphate. The public consultation will be open for 45 days and will end on 28 June 2012. The CLH reports and the dedicated webform to post the comments are available on the ECHA website.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), at the request of the European Commission, has reviewed the scientific evidence on the risks posed by articles containing the phthalates DINP and DIDP.
