ECHA Seventh Stakeholders' Day - 23 May 2012, Helsinki
The European Chemicals Agency hosts its Seventh annual Stakeholders' Day conference on 23 May 2012 in Helsinki. The conference offers participants the chance to hear the latest news and updates from ECHA, European industry associations and NGOs. As in previous years, ECHA offers participants the possibility to book one-to-one sessions with the Agency's scientific experts to discuss specific topics and to receive advice and guidance for key processes relevant to the implementation of the European chemicals legislation.

Conference on REACH and CLP Enforcement - 1 March 2012, Brussels
The European Commission hosted a Conference on REACH and CLP Enforcement on 1 March 2012, which gathered member state authorities and stakeholders to discuss activities and best practice in enforcing the new legislation.
The conference concluded that enforcement plays a critical role in the success of REACH and CLP and that it is important to ensure harmonised enforcement across the EEA.
Stakeholders indicated their support for enforcement and said they are keen to see how the Forum could enhance the harmonisation of enforcement actions. ECHA's Forum also presented their activities at the event.
More than 400 participants attended the event in Brussels and over 600 viewed online via web stream.

Workshop on the validity of the use of the 'rapid removal' concept - Wednesday, 8 February 2012, Helsinki
ECHA met with members of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC), and representatives of the Member States and industry to discuss the validity of the concept of 'rapid removal' for aquatic environmental long-term hazard classification of metals and inorganic metal compounds.
Lead Registrant workshop - 2-3 February 2012, Helsinki
The workshop is targeted at (new) lead registrants and will take place in ECHA's conference centre. The content of the workshop will be coordinated together with ECHA's Accredited Stakeholder Organisations who will be leading parts of the programme.
Seminar on the publication of information from the applications for authorisation process with industry representatives - 28 November 2011, Brussels
ECHA met with representatives of Industry to provide an update on its preparatory activities for the implementation of the authorisation process and to gather stakeholders' input in an efficient and transparent manner.
The seminar focused on several issues concerning the "Broad Information on Uses" with the aim of ensuring an efficient and meaningful involvement of interested parties in the public consultations on alternatives.
Workshop on the use of the QSAR Toolbox: Feedback from Industry Users and Development Needs - 24 November 2011, Helsinki
The first workshop with QSAR Toolbox industry users was held at ECHA on 24 November 2011. Nearly 30 representatives from industry, with practical knowledge on the use of the QSAR Toolbox, shared their experience and expressed their needs for further development and support.
The objectives of the workshop were:
- Sharing experience and best practice from the use of the QSAR Toolbox
- Identifying needs for implementation of additional features in the QSAR Toolbox
- Identifying needs for other types of support in view of the next registration deadline 2013
Four industry speakers provided insight on how they use the QSAR Toolbox, where they see need for further development and support and what are considered as current barriers for using the QSAR Toolbox. Long term objectives and plans for version 3.0 were introduced by the OECD secretariat.

REACH Conference - What did we achieve in 2010? How can we ease the way for 2013? - 23 September 2011
Organised by the European Commission, the conference aims to assess what we learnt during the 2010 registration procedure, both in terms of early results of the REACH regulation and in terms of process. The conference will highlight what went well and where improvements are needed to ease the way for the 2013 registration deadline.

The European Chemicals Agency organised its Sixth Stakeholders' Day on 18 May 2011, in the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Chesar Training Day - 17 May 2011, Helsinki
This training day provided an overview of the functionalities to carry out a Chemical Safety Assessment for a "simple case" and a demonstration on how the information is then reported in the Chemical Safety Report.
Seminar on Applications for Authorisation - 12 April 2011, Helsinki
ECHA organised this seminar to raise the understanding of potential applicants of the authorisation application procedure and the requirements on the contents of applications, as well as the use of submission formats, manuals and tools.
